BACHELOR OF AGRIBUSINESS MANAGEMENT
MODE OF LEARNING
This is a degree course of four years. Students trained in this programme will assume leading roles in public and private commerce of agricultural and food products.
Agribusiness is crucial to the development of African Economies and public and private agribusiness organisations that will contribute greatly toward the socio-economic well-being of communities in Zambia.
The degree equips students with competences that will enable them to understand the optimum use of land, labour and capital in production at the farm level; and the management of efficient and profitable value chains for agricultural commodities between farm gate and end user.
Further, the degree will equip undergraduates with research skills that will enable them to develop new ideas and initiatives, and enhance their entrepreneurial skills.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is targeted at individuals who have matriculated from secondary schools or who have previously completed diplomas or degrees in other disciplines.
JOB OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE
The Zambian government, in the next programme of four years has, targeted the agriculture sector as a priority sector to achieve diversification to reduce dependence on production and sales of copper.
This is leading to significant growth in the agriculture sector, and an increased demand for graduates by private and public organisations as consultants and operators who are involved in marketing and efficient and profitable movement of agriculture products through the value chain.
